Hi! I’m Maria. I guess my mail is a surprise for you. And I really hope it’s
a pleasant surprise.
I tried to use services serious attitudes agency. And they asked me what
kind of men I would like to meet, and they suggested to speak with you via
email. This agency explained that they found your email on the dating site.
So, a bit about me. I’m a lonely girl and live in Russia in Syzran city.
I’m 31. I have no children, but would like to have them very much. I’m
seriously looking for a serious man to start a new life with.. I’m also very
straight, kind, God fearing, hard working, honesty.. I give you my picture
that you could see me. I hope I didn’t make you bored with my letter.
And could you tell me more about yourself and send some of your photos?
What city do you live in? I’ll be looking forward to your response.

Protexin Pro-Kolin Plus Syringe

Barley, our rescue Lurcher, has had an upset tummy, so we decided to buy a Protexin Pro-Kolin Plus Syringe, which contains probiotics, prebiotics, kaolin, and pectin.
This product has got great reviews on Amazon, so we thought it would do the trick and cure him.
It worked! A few days after we started giving the Pro-Kolin to Barley he was as fit as a butchers dog.
My only complaint with Protexin Pro-Kolin is the over-designed syringe. Initially the syringe works well, dispensing the contents of the tube easily, but at the end of the course (for Barleys weight it was 5 days) I knew there was one full dose left in the nozzle after the plunger was fully depressed, and the only way to get the substance out was to cut the plastic tube. I had to use a hacksaw to cut the nozzle off to free the remaining dose. It seems a waste not to use the final dose, but having to saw the plastic syringe is ridiculous.
Having said that I am impressed with the Protexin Pro-Kolin Plus Syringe, and Barley is pretty happy with it too – no more poo problems.

The Allotment – Digging for Victory

I now have an allotment, well, not a whole plot, but half a plot.
A friend got an allotment a while ago, mainly just as a place to store stuff, so he has let me have half of it. You can see from the photos below that it needs some work. When I say some, what I really mean is weeks and weeks of back-breaking toil.
I am very happy to have a patch of earth where I can grow crops. So far I’ve been using our backyard. It is not a large space, and every pot I add means less space for our dog to mooch about, so moving some of the plants up to the allotment will be a good thing.
I’ve made a start on the allotment. I’m clearing small patches one at a time, and then plan to plant them. This way I will see results quicker, and not miss an entire growing season, because I’d spent all of my time clearing the entire space.
I hope I’ve got green fingers, and all of my hard work isn’t a waste of time.

BETRAYED by Jacqui Rose – Book Review

I won the book Betrayed by Jacqui Rose via a giveaway on the Goodreads website.
This is a very good fast paced read. When I first got the book I thought it was going to be a romcom/chick lit style novel, given the authors name, but it was a pleasant surprise because it is a London gangland novel with a strong storyline based on child sex abuse. While it is an unpleasant subject, this novel deals with it well, and it is a gripping read. Having said that, the ending is a little weak, and there are a few flaws in the novel, but none the less an enjoyable read.
My only real niggle with Betrayed by Jacqui Rose is the almost ‘nouveau riche’ use of product names like Gucci, Aston Martin etc. These I found gauche and unnecessary to the storyline.
I would be happy to read the next novel by Jacqui Rose, which is a definite thumbs up!

QUECHUA QuickHiker Ultralight III Hiking Tent, Grey – Review

I received the QUECHUA QuickHiker Ultralight III Hiking Tent from Decathlon (Thanks  Jeannie) for testing and reviewing.

On a non rainy day I headed just down the road to a field overlooking the Durham Heritage Coast, where I set about pitching the tent.
Prior to this I had not opened the tent, nor read instructions for pitching it. It was a fresh out of the bag ‘pitch’.
QUECHUA QuickHiker Ultralight III Hiking Tent
The first, and only problem I encountered as I set about pitching the tent, was the fact that I had left my reading glasses at home, which made looking at the illustrations a tad hard, and it meant that I made a couple of minor mistakes getting the tent erected.
In total, it ended up taking me 20 minutes to pitch the tent. Not bad for a first attempt.
My only niggle was the fact that there were 2 tent pegs missing, which meant I could not peg out the guide ropes.
Taking the tent down only took me a couple of minutes, and I even managed to get it back in the bag without any hassle, which hasn’t always been the case with other tents I’ve had.

Now I have successfully pitched the QUECHUA QuickHiker Ultralight III Hiking Tent once, and learnt from my mistakes, I reckon I could easily fully pitch it in under 10 minutes on my own.
The tent itself is very good quality, and I’m sure it’ll last years. It is also very stable (even without guide ropes), so I’m sure it will stand up to all of the weather conditions Britain can throw at it.
Overall I am very impressed with the QUECHUA QuickHiker Ultralight III Hiking Tent.

Winning Online Competitions

I’m having rather a good month so far at winning online competitions. So far I’ve received a couple of books, a Julio Iglesias CD and a cushion from Emma’s Cushions on Facebook. I must admit last month I did go rather mad at entering online competitions, manic almost. There are also a couple of other items winging there way to me in the post, making this my best winning month so far.
Now all I need to do is win the Euromillions on Tuesday. 🙂

Tusk Top Fly Trap, Red

We purchased the Tusk Top Fly Trap, to help with the fly problem that we have.
We’d read lots of positive online reviews about the product, and were confident it would eradicate the nasty flies that invade our home.
Once the fly trap arrived, we followed the instruction on the box to the letter, and placed it outside. After just 2 days the plastic bag came away from the body, spilling the liquid all over the ground. So now the putrid stench of the bait/water is everywhere. Nasty!
To add insult to injury, during the 2 days the Tusk Top Fly Trap was hanging outside it did not even catch a single fly.
The Tusk Top Fly Trap is total rubbish, and a complete waste of money.
