A Walk on the Wild Side

It was a glorious sunny morning today, so we decided to walk up to Beacon Hill with the dog.
Although the sun was shining it was a frosty morning but there was no wind blowing, so it felt quite mild. So mild in fact, that after about a mile or so, off came our hats and gloves. Maybe Spring is really on the way?
In total we walked a 90 minute circuit, about 4.5 miles. All three of us arrived home tired and hungry, but satisfied. The Mutt was tired from getting to sniff new scents; his nose was almost permanently sniffing the ground as we walked, and Mrs.R and myself were knackered from enjoying views we hadn’t seen before of the Durham countryside and coastline.
Our morning walk was thoroughly enjoyable and very peaceful. We only saw two other people the whole time we were out, both of whom were walking with their dogs.
We appreciate having the countryside and great sea views right on our doorstep, it definitely makes going out for some fresh air and exercise even more of a pleasure.

RoboCop Trilogy DVD – I Won It :)

The other day I won a copy of RoboCop Trilogy on DVD from Geek Native. I’ve seen all 3 movies many times, so I’m not in a rush to re-watch them. They can go in the ‘stand by’ pile of movies to watch on a Sunday afternoon, when there is nothing decent to watch on telly.

Showcase Creative Business Cards – I Won Some :)

I won 250 business cards in a competition on twitter with Showcase Creative @ShowcaseTweets. I was emailed and ask to submit a design, but I currently do not have a logo or design layout for , so I asked them to use their judgement. They emailed back with 4 designs to choose from.
The cards arrived yesterday. I’m very impressed with the quality of them. They will now be put to good use. Happy Days. 🙂

Abstract Weather

It is a cruddy day weather wise today, so I did not take any photos on my morning walk with Barley the Lurcher. I was more intent on keeping dry and I’m sure Barley would have been less than happy having to stop in the wind and rain while I took a few snaps.
I was still in a mood to take photos when I got back home, so I decided to take a few pics in the kitchen while my coffee was brewing. Abstract was the theme that sprung to mind.

TK Maxx T-Shirt – I Won It :-)

Last week a t-shirt arrived in the post that I won on twitter via @TKMaxx_UK. You had to make an inspirational quote and tweet it to them with the hashtag #tkmotivate. Maybe I should and tweeted ‘One Beer at a Time’ 🙂

The Coast at Easington Colliery

Yesterday morning we deviated from our normal coastal walk with the dog, which loops to the South. Instead we headed North towards Seaham. It was a blustery morning and unfortunately the sun was hiding, but I did take a few photos. The total loop we did , took about a hour.
Once the weather improves we will head even further North and maybe even take some food and wine and the 3 of us can stop for a picnic. No wine for Barley our Lurcher. He is strictly a beer hound. 🙂

Prince Avalanche DVD – I Won It :)

I won a copy of Prince Avalanche on DVD from Shelf Heroes. Happy Days!
I’ve a bit of a back log of movies to watch. I don’t own a DVD or Blu-Ray Player, so I only watch movies on my MacBook, and by the time I’m ready to relax with a movie I’m normally more than ready to shut the MacBook down for the evening.
Maybe I need to watch movies over breakfast?
