Walking in a Winter Wonderland!

Boxing day was the first real day of winter here in Easington Colliery. There was a frost that lasted all day. The frost only vanished because it started raining because of a storm that came up from the South. Our winter English winter in over a decade is now starting.

Christmas Lunch or a Dogs Dinner?

For lunch on Christmas day I cooked duck in a cider and cherry sauce. It all looked great until I plated it up. In traditional Christmas style the plate was overloaded with food, so looked a mess, but it would not be Christmas without a mountain on food on the plate.
Barley our Lurcher also done very well with festive food. He got a lot of duck skin and the left over bones got made into a stock which got added to is evening meal.

Rekorderlig Cider, a Winter Warmer

Happy Days. I won a £100 ASOS voucher from Rekorderlig Cider on their Facebook Page via the  Advent Calendar. Within an hour I had spent it on the items below. A few winter warmer clothing items. It is getting colder and this is my first winter in England in over a decade and my first ever in the North of England. I managed to spend £99 on warm clothing, most it it sale items and it should arrive just before the New Year.
